this article examines the theoretical foundations of developing students' interest in learning English. The study analyzes psychological, pedagogical, and methodological approaches to fostering and maintaining learners' motivation and interest in foreign language education. Particular attention is paid to the concepts of cognitive interest, intrinsic motivation, and learner engagement as key factors influencing successful language acquisition. The paper reviews the works of leading scholars in educational psychology and language teaching methodology and identifies the main conditions that contribute to the development of a sustainable interest in English learning. The findings highlight the importance of learner-centered instruction, interactive teaching methods, meaningful communication, and a supportive educational environment. The study concludes that a systematic application of these theoretical principles can significantly enhance students' motivation and improve learning outcomes in English language education.
