This article examines the current state of ideological and worldview competence development among prospective teachers in national educational practice and identifies opportunities for improvement. The author analyzes educational practice across three layers—normative, organizational, and practical—and identifies four gaps between them. The tradition of debate and argumentation embedded in the national spiritual heritage is examined, and its compatibility with contemporary pedagogical methods is substantiated. The study proposes five areas for improvement, specifying the particular gap each is intended to address. It also considers the view that national traditions conflict with methods based on critical discussion and provides reasoned arguments in response to this position.
