Maqolada o‘zbek ekologik birliklarining milliy-madaniy ma’nosini ingliz tilida saqlash muammolari o‘rganiladi. Ochiq inglizcha manbalardan tanlangan 15 birlik qiyosiy-tavsifiy va komponent tahlil asosida besh guruhga ajratildi. To‘qqiz birlikda transliteratsiya va izoh asosiy strategiya sifatida belgilandi. Imlo variantliligi, umumiy nom bilan almashtirish, ijtimoiy vazifaning yo‘qolishi hamda ecological va environmental sifatlarining farqlanmasligi asosiy muammolar bo‘ldi. Birlik turi va referentiga mos tarjima tanlash tavsiya etiladi. Natijalar kichik maqsadli tanlanmaga oid sifat kuzatuvlaridir.

English
The article examines how the cultural meanings of Uzbek ecological units are retained in English. Fifteen units from open English-language sources were analysed comparatively and componentially and divided into five groups. Transliteration with a gloss was the main strategy for nine units. Major problems included spelling variation, replacement by general terms, loss of social functions, and confusion between ecological and environmental. Translation choices should follow the type and referent of each unit. The findings are qualitative observations from a small purposive sample.
